Location...

I like the idea of having close up's and landscapes with the same model and same clothing in to tie them all together, but i want the locations of the landscapes to be of places that mean something around my home....

influences...

Richard Avedon
  • With many achievement awards and exhibitions, has been visual consultant for the film Funny Face, with Fred Astaire and Audrey Hepburn, based on his own career and photographed for many including Vogue, Harpers Bazaar and the New Yorker.
  • I can see so many similarities and comparisons between his work and work of other more recent artists which i like aswell and can see how they have been influenced by his work.
  • An example of this would be his Dovima, hat by balenciaga, Maxims, Paris, August 1955 and the august 1957 Vogue front cover, by Norman Parkinson, which i remember due to painting it for my A-levels!

Model: My sister!
some of my experiments and previous work...
...ok so maybe a white background could be quite boring?!...so thought that mayyyybe i could do as part of the set....some close ups showing the texture of the materials and the cosy homely-ness stuff.....and then some shots of the same fashion elements in different locations around my home...

...Am hoping to do this shoot over easter when i go home!...really want to use my sister as a model as she has helped me out for other shoots ive done and i get to tell her what to do! Aha...

experiments...

...just some photos of some possible materials i could use for my shoot...Fur hats, scarfs, Chunky knitt jumpers...im thinking either close up shots or just a plain background?!...

The due behind the the fashion outerwear label Makage started building their business both aged 12. Mackage is now recognised among the international fashion scene and Elisa's and Erans avant-guard approach, originality and creativite drive continue to attract the admiration of stylish women around the world.

I like the idea that although these coats are made for the cold temperatures, wind and rain, they look the opposite. Warm, dry, cosy and have the homely feeling that i want.

Sarah Silver...

...looking at the use of knitwear to get the home feeling, i found some shoots done by one of my favorate photographers Sarah Silver using a mix of different textures and knitts which i really liked...
...I love the range of work she does, fashion, beauty, advertising, and her movement shoots which are personal to her...
...She has worked for many recognisible brand names including DKNY, L'Oreal and Rimmel London to name a few aswell as shooting for Vogue, Elle, V Magazine, Saturday Times magazine, The New York Times and Harper's Bazaar...
Musttt visit her website...www.sarahsilver.com ...

For my shoot...

An idea which has sprung from the 'Home Comforts' idea is to look at the different role's clothing plays in the home...Loungwear, pajamas, slippers, comfy clothes that are not necessarily ment to be seen by other people outside of your home...
This idea of being warm and cosy in the home through different clothing led me to look at the texture and materials of knitt wear and winter clothing which gives us a kind of homely comfort in winter...

styling your home...

From Elle, November 2009

I enjoy looking at the way in which they have selected different elements which represent these two people rather than the ordinary everyday items which you would usually associate with 'Home'. These items maybe things that mean more to them rather than the items you use every day.
My sisters photography around our home...
